Both public and private organizations continue to help Filipino families survive with their basic needs during the implementation of community quarantines in different provinces in the country.
The Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) supports not only the families in need of food relief, but also our vegetable farmers to have a steady source of income during the lockdown. Due to the strict guidelines implemented in checkpoints between provinces, farmers had difficulties in transporting and selling goods. Because of this, PBSP decided to directly partner with a group of Benguet farmers to supply fresh vegetables in urban poor communities all over the country.
Coca-Cola Foundation supports PBSP by sponsoring food packs and fresh vegetables to 6,400 poor families through the “Bayanihan Musikahan” Project. We were able to reach families from Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite who were all affected by the lockdown.
“Bayanihan Musikahan” is PBSP’s project led by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, mobilizing the country’s musical talents to spur a massive community effort to grow funds for food, protection kits, and barangay quarantine spaces for the most vulnerable Filipinos.
Coca-Cola is one with the mission of “Bayanihan Musikahan” capitalizing the most important Filipino trait during this time – the Bayanihan spirit. PBSP is a long-term partner of Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines for projects like Little Red Schoolhouse and Agos, providing school buildings and school WASH facilities nationwide.
This donation is under the Php150 Million commitment of Coca-Cola Philippines to fund COVID-19 Relief efforts supporting health workers, vulnerable communities, and small retailers nationwide.
Together, we can make a difference. #COVIDRelief #GoBeyondGood #KaagapayKontraCOVID
