Water Stewardship Story

Brgy. Kulasi’s Water System wins Outstanding CSR Collaboration Project!

Sumilao, Bukidnon – Brgy. Kulasi’s Water System Project was recognized as Outstanding CSR Collaboration Project during the 2020 LCF – CSR Guild Awards.

Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines and Del Monte Foundation Inc. collaborated with the local government units of Brgy. Kulasi and the municipality of Sumilao to build an effective water system that gave local farmers and their families access to clean and potable water.

The CSR Guild Awards is a seal of excellence given to premier organizations implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs in Education, Arts and Culture, Enterprise Development, Environment, Health, and Collaboration.

Brgy. Kulasi is the poorest among the ten (10) baranggays in the municipality of Sumilao. Before this project, household members must walk to a reservoir 750meters away to line in a queue from a single faucet. Now, they have 25 community faucets in their barangay. This also led to the increased production of crops and vegetables for our Sumilao farmers.

“We would like to thank the LCF for showcasing all the outstanding projects from different corporate foundations in the CSR Guild Awards. These amazing stories keep us inspired to do more for our communities, especially to those most in need of water.“ – Ms. Monina Pacheco, Coca-Cola Foundation’s Senior Program Officer for Agos

Through the Agos Program, Coca-Cola strengthens its commitment to water stewardship – replenishing an estimated 112% of the water used in the production of beverages in 2019.

By making safe water accessible to more families, we also reduce the incidence of water-borne diseases, ensuring that residents can live healthier, happier lives.
